Mustang Competitive ECNL and Elite Members,
We hope this email finds you well. As 2020 comes to a close, we would like to say thank you to our members for their continued support of Mustang Soccer during this fluid and challenging year. We would also like to thank our volunteers and professional staff for the countless hours they have spent behind the scenes and out on the fields. Their time and dedication have allowed our Mustang players the ability to play in some capacity, albeit restrictive, for the past six months. As we plan the Elite and ECNL program for the next 5 months, this is an update on what members can expect.
Youth Sports Guidance - dated 12/14/20:
Youth Sports Guidance has finally been released by the State of California. https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/COVID-19/outdoor-indoor-recreational-sports.aspx
This guidance allows us to continue in our current training environment and provides additional details, such as direction on exactly when we can begin playing games within our club, as well as against other clubs within Contra Costa County. Once we reach the Orange tier as outlined by the State of California, we can return to full contact training and games. Given our County's ability to reach this tier in September and October 2020, this guidance provides hopeful direction for gameplaying to start again during the first quarter of 2021. We have already planned to immediately begin games against other clubs within our County once the Orange tier has been reached again. In the meantime, Coaching Directors are working with coaches to update teamsnap accounts online with three trainings per week between January 4th, 2021 and May 31st, 2021
2020/2021 Program Fees Payment:
This email is a reminder that the final Program Fees payment will be due on January 15, 2021 as outlined at the start of the season. On January 4th, you will receive an email notifying you that a charge has been applied to your household Demosphere account. The email will provide you with a link to log in and make a payment. This will complete payment of fees for the 2020-2021 season. Although we have not played any games, the program fees have been spent in a multitude of ways this season, for example modification to MSC to comply with protocols, PPE supplies, testing, contact tracing, and significant additional staff hours to ensure protocol compliance. We have also added additional trainings between August and December. We will continue to have 3 training sessions a week until May 31st, 2021, when new teams will be formed for the 2021-2022 season. We have extended the usual season for our younger teams, adding several weeks of training. We continue to train the older teams that would normally be on hiatus for their high school soccer season. Directors continue to work on college recruiting for our oldest players in an extremely restrictive environment.
Mustang Soccer Coaching Directors and coaches are currently finalizing tournament schedules to provide team options for future tournaments once we can travel out of state for competitive games. Future tournaments occurring in February, March, April, and May are being reviewed.
During this unprecedented time, having the ability to continue to participate in youth sports, as well as having the support of the strong, responsible, and caring Mustang Soccer community has been a pleasure, especially with seemingly never-ending unforeseen circumstances. The genuine support of our community has made a difficult challenge easier to manage for the benefit of our youth players. We look forward to continuing to provide our members with the highest quality soccer experience in 2021.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
